Peargirl Rainbow Warriors Booties knitting pattern
These colorful booties are available in 3 sizes using fingering weight yarn.
SIOUX PROPHESY:

“When the earth is dying there shall arise a new tribe of all colours and all creeds. This
tribe shall be called The Warriors of the Rainbow and it will put its faith in actions, not
words.”
The cabled rib is a simple 4 row cable using green to make Swallowtail Caterpillars, adding
duplicate stitch for the colorful detail when the booties are finished. The Swallowtail
Caterpillars symbolize transformation.
Materials: Fingering weight yarn approx (165 meter/181 yds/50 g) –1 skein for each color of the Rainbow (purple,
blue, green, yellow, orange, red), 1 skein of brown to symbolize soil (Earth), and a small
amount of black for duplicate stitch on the Swallowtail Caterpillars. Yes…this is a lot of
yarn, but you will be using only a small amount of each color. You can make many pairs of
booties, or a Rainbow Warriors hat also.
Needles: 2.75mm (#2 US) DPN’s, or appropriate size to achieve gauge.
Stitch Marker
Cable Needle in size equal to or smaller than working needle.
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends, working Kitchener Stitch and Duplicate Stitch.
Sizes : Keep in mind that babies feet vary quite a bit. 6-12 months (1-2 years, 2-4 years) Length: 4.5 (5.0, 5.5)” ~ This length may be adjusted (See NOTE in Shape Gusset section). Circumference: 4.75 (5.25, 5.75)”
Gauge : 28 sts per 4” in Stst using 3.00mm (#2 US) needles in the round, or size to achieve gauge.
