Peargirl Knitting for Peace Flags
Peargirl Knits
What can be more universal than wanting to live our lives in peace? Hoping for peace in this unstable world is what led me to design this banner. Each letter can be knit using either Duplicate Stitch or Intarsia. I used Duplicate Stitch because I find that cotton is less forgiving when working Intarsia, but the choice is yours.
Materials: Tahki Cotton Classic (108 yds/50 g) – 2 skeins for each color. I used the following color numbers: Blue 3872, Ivory 3003, Green 3725, Red 3995, and Gold 3559.
♥ Needles – 3.75 mm (#5 US) ~ you can use 9” straight needles, 16” circular needles, or as I did, a pair of 7” double point needles (DPN). Adjust needle size to achieve gauge.
♥ 4.00 mm (F) Crochet Hook to work Slip Stitch around edges of each flag.
♥ Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
♥ Stitch Marker
Gauge: 22 sts per 4” in Stst using size 3.75mm (#5 US) needles, or size to achieve gauge, although exact gauge is not crucial.
