Peargirl Ivy Headband
Peargirl Knits
My hairdresser, Ivy, asked me to design this headband for her. I ended up with 7 more orders for headbands. Knit in Pure Pima from Berroco, it has a softness not found in all cottons. Pima cotton is a very strong, high-grade cotton of medium staple developed from selected Egyptian cottons in the southwest United States. It is named for the location of the experimental farm on which it was developed in the early 1900’s, Pima County in southern Arizona. This pattern requires knitting and crochet skills.
Materials :
♥ Berroco Pure Pima (115 yds/50 g) ~ 1 skein or other DK weight yarn to achieve gauge.
♥ Needles ~ 3.75 mm (#5 US) circular or straight needles (I used 2 – 7” long DP’s), or appropriate size to achieve gauge.
♥ Crochet Hook ~ 3.75mm (#F US) hook for edging and crocheted flower.
♥ Tapestry needle ~ for weaving in ends.
♥ One 3/4 inch button, sewing thread and needle for sewing button and flower to headband.
Gauge: 20 stitches = 4 inches in the round.
