Peargirl Idrials Elvish Elder Hat Knitting Pattern
Idrial of Lothlórienuses is a female Elven Warrior, from The Lord of the Rings: The Third
Age, who uses spirit powers in combat, mainly healing powers and water magic. This
Elvish hat is so named for the magical nature of her powers. A provisional cast on is used
and the knitting begins from the bottom up, knitting the hat first. Remove the waste yarn
carefully as you put the live stitches back on your needles to knit the leaves that adorn the
bottom of the hat.
Materials :
Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool XL (95m,/50g) ~ 2 skeins Main Color (MC), and 1 skein
Contrast Color (CC). The yarn is intentionally knit tighter to reduce stretching.
Needles ~ One 4.00 mm (#6 US) 16” circular needle, and one set of double point needles
(DPN), or appropriate size to achieve gauge.
Crochet Hook ~ #G hook for provisional cast on.
Stitch Marker ~ to mark beginning of round.
Tapestry needle ~ for weaving in ends.
Cotton waste yarn for provisional cast on.
Sewing needle and thread in leaf color.
Size : Small 20-22”, (Large 22-24”) head circumference.
