Elves were the Firstborn, the first of the races of the Children of Iluvatar, who awoke in J. R. R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth a millennia before the Aftercomers. Distinguished from Men and Dwarves, they possessed near immortality. These Elvish Christmas stockings may become immortal as they are passed down from generation to generation becoming treasured heirlooms. Version II is striped, while Version I is more traditional.

♥ Tahki Savoy (108yds/50g) ~ 3 skeins Main Color (MC) – Red
♥ Lambs Pride Superwash (200yds/100g) ~ Contrast Color (CC) – White
VERSION 2 ~
♥ Dream In Color Classy (250yds/4oz) ~ 1 skein Main Color (MC) – Happy Forest
♥ Dream In Color Classy (250yds/4oz) ~ 1 skein Main Color (CC) – Ruby River
BOTH VERSIONS :
♥ Needles ~ For Stocking: 4.25 mm (#6 US) 16” circular needle, 2 – 4.25mm (#6 US) 24” circular needles, and DPN’s in same size to finish toe. For Leaves: 4.50 mm (#7 US) set of double point needles (DPN). Adjust needle size if necessary to achieve gauge.
♥ Crochet Hook ~ #G hook for provisional cast on.
♥ Stitch Marker ~ to mark beginning of round.
♥ Tapestry needle ~ for weaving in ends.
♥ Cotton waste yarn for provisional cast on.
♥ 7 small bells (optional)
Size :
13” cuff, 11” foot, approximately 18” from cuff to toe while hanging.
Gauge :
Gauge is not crucial, however 20 stitches = 4 inches in the round on smaller needles. The stocking is intentionally knitted at a tighter gauge to reduce stretching.
