FTAC43 Fabulous Felt Totes

Sturdy totes to use as knitting project totes, shopping or travel bags.

Knit in double strand 8ply (DK) weight yarn. Adding novelty yarn is optional.

Finished sizes: Approximate, as size will vary with the amount of felting and yarn choice.
Small: 13″ (33cm) wide, 12″ (30cm) deep;

Medium: 17″ (43cm) wide, 14″ (36cm) deep;

Large: 18″ (46cm) wide, 17″ (43cm) deep.

Yarn Requirements:
Main Yarn: 650 (1030, 1350) yds (594 (941, 1234) meters) of DK weight wool that will felt quickly and easily.

Yarn is used double throughout.

Novelty yarn: 70 (100, 125) yds (64 (91, 114) meters). This yarn is not intended to felt, instead it is held in with the felted wool. Choose a yarn with a fine core (binder thread) so that it will not cause a large change in the felted gauge of the wool.
We have used Trendsetter’s Flora in the small and large tote and Charm in the medium tote.
