FD-12 Canterbury Bells Scarf Shawl

Scarf and shawl are knit from a provisional cast on toward the center of the garment. Stitches are left live while the second side is knit. Stitches are picked up from the provisional cast on, and a border is knit. This is repeated on the second side, and then the two sides are grafted together.

Yarn: Scarf: 375 yards; stole: 1,100 yards.
Gauge: 21 stitches to 4 inches in center panel motif, blocked.
Needles: Size 5 (3.75 mm), Knit Picks Options in Harmony, approximate size G crochet hook.
Finished size: Scarf: 9.5 x 57 inches (24 x 145 cm); stole: 21.5 x 74 inches (54 x 188 cm)
Notions: Waste yarn for provisional cast on, and stitch holders required. Lifelines and stitch markers are optional.
Difficulty: Intermediate

Skills: K2/3/4 tog through front or back loops, YO, S1-K2tog-psso, knit and purl in 1 st, applied border, grafting, chart reading.
